Natuurlijke personen kunnen worden gekoppeld aan online-identificatoren via hun apparatuur, applicaties, instrumenten en protocollen, zoals internetprotocol (IP)-adressen, identificatiecookies of andere identificatoren zoals radiofrequentie-identificatietags.
