In the second place, it should be recalled that, under Article 4(1) of the GDPR, ‘personal data’ means ‘any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person’. For its part, Article 4(2) of the GDPR defines the term ‘processing’ as ‘any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means’, citing, by way of example of such operations, inter alia, ‘the collection, recording, … dissemination or otherwise making available’ of such data.
