Als je je menstruatiecyclus bijhoudt in een app, deel je zeer gevoelige informatie. Terwijl vaak onduidelijk is wat zo’n app daarmee doet of met wie deze gegevens worden gedeeld. Het gaat om zeer intieme gegevens als wanneer je seks hebt gehad, of je zwanger bent of dat je een miskraam hebt gehad. De Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP) roept op terughoudend te zijn met het delen van gevoelige informatie en sluit onderzoek naar dit soort apps niet uit.
