Based on a complaint against the controller, the AEPD had initiated investigations against it. The controller had installed a video surveillance system (audio and video) that captured, among other things, parts of a conference room. In this context, the DPA found that the controller had violated the principle of data minimization by processing data without a valid reason and without informing the data subjects about the video surveillance in advance.
