The Spanish DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 42,000 on Alquiler Seguro SA. The company had advertised a job for which the data subject had applied. As part of the application process, the company had requested information about the creditworthiness of the data subject from a credit agency. However, the person concerned had never consented to such a query of their creditworthiness by Alquiler Seguro nor had they been informed about it. For this reason, the DPA found that Alquiler Seguro had processed the data of the data subject without a valid legal basis and thus violated Art. 6 (1) GDPR.
