The Spanish DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 100,000 on NATURGY IBERIA, S.A.. A customer had filed a complaint with the DPA because an amendment had been made to their electricity supply contract without their consent. In the course of their investigations, the DPA discovered that a fraudster had pretended to be the data subject and managed to change the data subject's contract. According to the DPA, the controller had not properly verified the identity of the fraudster before amending the contract.
