The Spanish DPA imposed a fine of EUR 30,000 on ATRESMEDIA CORPORACIÓN DE MEDIOS DE COMUNICACIÓN, S.A. The controller published a video of a violent incident, which contained the voices of the victim and the aggressor, thereby making them identifiable. The voices could have been distorted to protect the identities of the persons. Therefore the controller infringed the principle of data minimisation. The original fine of EUR 50,000 was reduced to EUR 30,000 due to immediate payment and admission of responsibility by the controller.
