De Belgische autoriteit voor gegevensbescherming (DPA) heeft Infobel een boete van 40.000 euro opgelegd. De verantwoordelijke, een bedrijf dat gegevens verzamelt en doorverkoopt, verkocht persoonlijke gegevens voor direct marketingdoeleinden. Echter, het bedrijf verwerkte de gegevens die het had verkocht zonder een voldoende juridische basis.
