De Spaanse autoriteit voor gegevensbescherming heeft Digi Spain Telecom S.L.U. een boete van 150.000 euro opgelegd. De verantwoordelijke partij weigerde een contractaanvraag vanwege vermeende openstaande schulden, hoewel dit niet klopte, aangezien de aanvrager het slachtoffer was van identiteitsfraude. Tijdens het verificatieproces en het besluitvormingsproces met betrekking tot de acceptatie van de aanvraag, werden gegevens verwerkt zonder een voldoende juridische basis.
