De Spaanse autoriteit voor gegevensbescherming (DPA) heeft REAL SOCIEDAD DE FUTBOL S.A.D. een boete van 66.000 euro opgelegd. De verantwoordelijke partij is het slachtoffer geworden van een ransomware-aanval als gevolg van onvoldoende technische en organisatorische maatregelen om de gegevensbeveiliging te waarborgen. De oorspronkelijke boete van 110.000 euro is verlaagd tot 66.000 euro vanwege de directe betaling en de erkenning van verantwoordelijkheid door de verantwoordelijke partij.
