Data Transfers Open Letter on the Future of EU-US Data Transfers While many details are still unclear, more and more details about the planned EU-US data transfer deal have emerged. These details seem to raise more questions as the the stability of any new adequacy agreement by the European Commission. In the light of these concerning developments, the lead plaintiff in the "Schrems I" and "Schrems II" cases has sent the following open letter (PDF) to the relevant stakeholders: Dear Commissioner Didier Reynders, Dear Secretary Gina Raimondo, Dear Pauline Dubarry, Dear EDPB Chair Andrea Jelinek, Dear LIBE Chair Juan Fernando López Aguilar, We take note of the announcement of an agreement on principle for a new Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework. We understand that the future deal “agreed in principle” is mainly based on a political agreement between Commission President von der Leyen and US President Joe Biden, but is not the result of material changes to U.S. law in response to th
