Op 16 april 2024 heeft de Kamer moties aangenomen waarin de regering wordt verzocht om meer hulp en ondersteuning te bieden aan geadopteerden en om ervoor te zorgen dat adoptiedossiers goed toegankelijk zijn. De regering informeert nu over de voortgang van deze moties, waaronder de overdracht van adoptiedossiers naar het Nationaal Archief, de toegang tot deze dossiers, en de plannen voor verdere ondersteuning van geadopteerden. Hierbij spelen ook specifieke gegevensbeschermingsrechtelijke vraagstukken, met name inzake inzage van de dossiers. Zie daarover het advies van Pels Rijcken bijvoorbeeld.
